But with increased popularity and people comes increased challenges from new people learning the system, or even with more experienced people trying to run games when they haven’t before. That’s where becomingDM steps up. Our every-other-week episodes will give you the tips, tricks, gadgets and doodads to take your game to the next level, or maybe even get started at level 1.

But who are we and why should you listen to us?

If you’re an experienced dungeon master, you may appreciate John’s perspective. John has been playing role playing games since the 80s and started with the red box basic set of Dungeons and Dragons. Throughout the years, he added additional games to his experience including AD&D 2E, Robotech, Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Twilight 2000, Vampire, and Pathfinder, just to name a few. In the late 80s he ran his first game and has been dungeon mastering ever since. John can provide the experienced, multi-system view into dungeon mastering.

If you’re a new DM and trying to figure all of this out, Felicia’s recent experience with being tossed into the dungeon mastering arena may work well for you. After playing D&D 5th edition for a year, she needed to start running her own game or the party would fall apart.. She jumped in feet first and really took to the dungeon master role. Felicia can provide a lot of recent insight that will help new and experienced dungeon masters alike look at running their game from a different perspective.

Whether you’re a classic or fresh DM, John and Felicia’s varied experience is sure to provide you that extra information you need to amp up your tabletop game.
